In March 2025, while the prices of fresh green beans increased the most in Istanbul, airline ticket prices showed the greatest decline. In the food and non-alcoholic beverages group, many products experienced price increases.

Last month in Istanbul, the price of fresh green beans increased the most. Among transportation expenses, the price of airplane tickets decreased by 26.03%, making it the product with the highest price drop. The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) announced the products with the highest price increases and decreases in Istanbul last March, along with their rates, to ensure market transparency and inform the public. Compared to the previous month, out of 336 main products in the index, the prices of 208 products increased while 52 products saw a decrease.

FRESH GREEN BEAN PRICE INCREASED BY 60.36% IN MARCH

In March 2025, fresh green beans, which are part of the food and non-alcoholic beverages expenditure group, became the product with the highest price increase at 60.36%. Some other products that experienced price increases are as follows: eggplant at 43.88%, zucchini at 41.93%, bell pepper at 41.73%, intercity bus ticket at 34.58% in the transportation expenses group, men's barber-haircut at 25.23% in the various goods and services group, lemon at 24.96%, tomato at 21.92%, cauliflower at 19.64%, garlic at 19.06%, banana at 17.25%, dry onion at 16.11%, hot pepper at 12.17%, car rental fee (daily) at 11.30% in the transportation expenses group, cologne at 9.65% in the various goods and services group, green onion at 8.79% in the food and non-alcoholic beverages group, ice cream at 8.55%, and potato at 8.42%.

PLANE TICKET DECREASED BY 26.03% IN MARCH 2025

In March 2025, the airplane ticket, which is part of the transportation expenses group, decreased by 26.03%, making it the product with the highest price drop. Some other products that saw a price decrease are as follows: porcelain household items at 14.19% in the household goods expenditure group, curly lettuce at 7.98% in the food and non-alcoholic beverages group, olive oil at 2.89%, dining room set at 2.19% in the household goods expenditure group, fish at 2.18% in the food and non-alcoholic beverages group, deodorant at 1.75% in the various goods and services group, peanuts at 1.23% in the food and non-alcoholic beverages group, red pepper flakes at 0.91%, and instant soups at 0.39%.
