In Şile, 3 people who violated the swimming ban imposed due to waves and currents were caught in the current. While the lifeless bodies of 2 people were recovered, search efforts for 1 person continue.

Three people who violated the ban on entering the sea in Şile due to waves and currents were swept away by the current and went missing. During search operations conducted by teams, the lifeless bodies of two people were recovered, while efforts to find the other missing person continue from the air and sea.

THREE PEOPLE DISAPPEARED AT SEA

Due to adverse weather conditions, high waves, and strong rip currents, the Şile District Governorate banned sea entry at all beaches except Ayazma Beach and Ağva Central Beach as of 11:00. However, despite all precautions and warnings, three people ignored the ban and entered the sea at different points, only to be swept away and disappear.

AIR AND LAND SEARCH OPERATION LAUNCHED

Initially, authorities received information that İsa Bodur (42), who entered the sea to cool off, had disappeared among the waves. Coast Guard teams were dispatched to the Sofular Cave area. Meanwhile, another report was made that two people, Ahmet Can Yavuz (24) and Umut Gümüş (25), had disappeared at sea from the Akçakese village mouth area. Following these reports, numerous search and rescue teams were directed to the region, and the Coast Guard, maritime police, and lifeguard teams launched a large-scale search from both the air and sea.

BODIES TAKEN TO ŞILE STATE HOSPITAL MORGUE

During operations at Akçakese Beach, the lifeless body of Ahmet Can Yavuz was first recovered around 13:30. Intensifying the search, teams later recovered the lifeless body of İsa Bodur, who had disappeared near the Sofular Cave area, from the sea. The bodies, brought ashore by Coast Guard boats, were taken to the Şile State Hospital morgue.

ANXIOUS WAIT CONTINUES FOR UMUT GÜMÜŞ'S FAMILY

Efforts to reach Umut Gümüş, who was swept away by the waves, continue unabated. While Coast Guard helicopters conduct aerial scans, boats and divers are reportedly continuing their search operations on and under the sea surface. Gümüş's relatives were seen anxiously waiting on the shore.

A large-scale investigation into the incident is ongoing.
