In the Espiye district of Giresun, a car returning from the plateau went out of control and rolled into a stream. In the accident, driver Sefer Akgün and his wife Nazmiye Akgün lost their lives, and one person was injured.
In the Espiye district of Giresun, the driver Sefer (46) and his wife Nazmiye Akgün (43) lost their lives when their car veered out of control and rolled into a stream on the way back from the plateau; 1 person was injured. The accident occurred in the evening hours in the village of Ericek, affiliated with the district. The car with license plate 28 ADN 343, driven by Sefer Akgün returning from Karadoğa Plateau, flipped over into the stream after the driver lost control of the steering wheel. While Nuran Akgün (19), who managed to get out of the overturned vehicle in the stream on her own, was injured, the driver and his wife Nazmiye Akgün lost their lives.
GENDARMERIE LAUNCHED AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE ACCIDENT
Upon notification from those around, health and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the area. The injured person, who received first aid from health personnel, was taken to Espiye State Hospital by ambulance. It was reported that the injured person under treatment does not have a life-threatening condition. The bodies were recovered by the teams from where they were found and taken to the forensic medicine institution for autopsy.
The gendarmerie launched an investigation into the accident.
