The personal vehicle of Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk was stolen from in front of his private residence in Sopot, which is guarded by security personnel 24 hours a day. Polish police are considering the possibility that the theft could be a routine burglary, but they are also evaluating the likelihood that it could be the work of foreign intelligence services aiming to send a message that they could harm Prime Minister Tusk.
A theft incident in Poland has revealed a security vulnerability at the highest levels of the country's government.
PRIME MINISTER TUSK'S CAR STOLEN
The personal Lexus vehicle of the Polish Prime Minister was stolen on Wednesday night. The incident occurred at Tusk's private residence in the city of Sopot, located in the north of the country, which is guarded 24 hours a day by the State Protection Service (SOP) officers.
FOUND 25 KILOMETERS AWAY
After the incident was noticed, the police took action and began extensive search efforts. Prime Minister Tusk's vehicle was found parked hours later in the Kokoszki district of Gdansk, approximately 25 kilometers away. While the vehicle was towed to the police lot, efforts to identify the thief or thieves are ongoing.
