The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry continues to expose products that pose a health risk from the list of "Imitation or Adulterated Foods." The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry continues to update the list of "Imitation or Adulterated Foods" to protect public health and inform citizens.
Brands that have been imitating or adulterating many products, including sausage, cheese, olive oil, and honey, have been exposed for months.
CHEESE SOLD IN A THREE-LETTER SUPERMARKET CHAIN CAUGHT ATTENTION
In the updated list of 'Imitation or Adulterated Foods', many olive oils, honey, meat, and meatball products were identified, while the most attention-grabbing product on the list was the 'Ekici Full-Fat Melting Cheese (Triangle Cheese)' belonging to 'Ekiciler Süt Gıda Tarım Hayvancılık Sanayi ve Ticaret Anonim Şirketi', which is sold in a three-letter supermarket frequently visited by many people. It was determined that the fat content of the cheese in question was low.
COMPANY ADMITTED TO ADULTERATION
Following news in the public domain, Ekici Cheese stated that the product was not offered for sale in supermarkets and was only produced for out-of-home consumption. In Ekici Cheese's statement, it was noted; "The product listed is not the one sold in supermarkets, but the bulk product Ekici Full-Fat Plain Melting Cheese intended for out-of-home consumption. The product in question is not sold in supermarkets. The information that it is sold in three-letter supermarkets does not reflect the truth."
In the Imitation and Adulteration List prepared by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Turkey, Ekici Full-Fat Plain Melting Cheese (bulk triangle cheese), produced for out-of-home consumption, has been included in the list due to its "low fat content." These products are not sold in retail.
