The 12-year-old Muhammed Hac Rabia, who went missing in Istanbul, was found near the Yenimahalle tram station four days later. During this time, the little boy spent nights on the trams, managed to feed himself with the help of shopkeepers, and saved 800 lira by selling water. Reunited with his family, Muhammed said, "I will not go anywhere alone anymore."
12-year-old Muhammed Hac Rabia, who left his home to go to the sea in Istanbul on August 22, never returned. After days of search efforts, the little boy was found by the child bureau teams while eating at a rice shop near the Yenimahalle stop on the T4 Topkapı–Mescidi Selam Tram Line.
BECAUSE HE DIDN'T SPEAK TURKISH...
After health checks, it was learned that Muhammed, who was handed over to his family, was afraid and ran away from citizens trying to take him to the police because he did not speak Turkish.
SPENT NIGHTS ON THE TRAM, SOLD WATER
What Muhammed experienced during the 4 days he was missing has come to light. The little boy slept on trams at night and filled his stomach with food given by shopkeepers during the day. Additionally, Muhammed, who saved 800 lira by selling water to passengers, said, "I want to buy a toy for my sister Sihem."
"I WON'T GO ALONE ANYMORE"
According to a report in Sabah; recounting his difficult experience, Muhammed stated, "I was very scared that I wouldn't be able to see my mother and siblings. I couldn't sleep at night. I won't go anywhere alone anymore."
FAMILY'S PROMISE OF A SACRIFICE
Amar Rabia, the mother who was reunited with her son, said, "May Allah be pleased with the Republic of Turkey. I couldn't swallow anything for days." His uncle Nur Mistorebia expressed his joy by saying, "I prayed for days. My Lord returned my nephew to me, I will sacrifice a lamb."
