"As part of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, MASAK reports, HTS records, subscription records of domestic and foreign betting sites, documents regarding the status of betting on these sites, and witness statements have been obtained. Analyzing the records of thousands of individuals and dozens of institutions over a retrospective period of at least 5 years is time-consuming and requires intensive work. After these analyses, judicial actions will be taken against the actual suspects identified."

The allegations against Gündoğdu are considered one of the biggest scandals in Turkish football in recent years. The course of the investigation and the detailed report to be prepared by MASAK are closely followed by the football public.

TFF President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu announced that 371 of the 571 referees working in professional leagues have betting accounts, and 152 of them are actively betting. In his statement, Hacıosmanoğlu said, 'It has been revealed that 371 of the 571 active referees in professional leagues have betting accounts. It has been determined that 152 of these referees are actively betting.'
