Following the 6.1 magnitude earthquake in Balıkesir Sındırgı, the Turkey Disaster Response Plan was activated. With the activation of the plan, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya and AFAD President Ali Hamza Pehlivan went to the region. Ustaoğlu stated that there were no casualties, saying, "We have 22 citizens who applied to our hospitals. Four of them have been discharged. There is no citizen with a life-threatening condition."

"I extend my best wishes to our citizens affected by the earthquake that occurred in the Sındırgı district of Balıkesir and was felt in our surrounding provinces. Our AFAD, along with other relevant units, is meticulously continuing field inspection and control efforts. We are also closely monitoring the process. May God protect our country and nation from all kinds of disasters."
AFAD: DO NOT ENTER DAMAGED BUILDINGS
The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) warned against entering damaged buildings in the region. In a statement from AFAD, it was stated, "Do not stay near risky buildings. Continue your communication via short message service (SMS) and internet-based messaging applications. Follow the warnings of official units."
