On May 19, around 18:00, a brutal incident occurred in the Kocavezi neighborhood of the Seyhan district in Adana. Tolga Hiçyakmaz (29), a cleaning worker for the Seyhan Municipality, started a dispute with Hüsamettin Gözaçık (60), the owner of a tea house, who reacted negatively to the cleaning he was doing.

The argument quickly escalated into a fight. During the altercation, Hiçyakmaz stabbed Gözaçık in the abdomen, back, and arm. As Gözaçık collapsed to the ground in a pool of blood, the suspect fled the scene. Police and medical teams were dispatched to the location following reports from bystanders. Gözaçık, who was taken to Seyhan State Hospital, passed away yesterday.

Teams from the Homicide Bureau arrested the suspect during a raid at his home. Hiçyakmaz, who was taken to the police station, stated during his interrogation, "He was constantly cursing at me and reacting. When he pulled a knife on me, I took it from him and stabbed him." After his procedures, Hiçyakmaz was referred to the courthouse, where he was arrested by the court.
