The commander of the Assad regime, Saleh al-Ras Abu Montajib, who executed 41 unarmed civilians by throwing them alive into a pit during the Syrian civil war in 2013, has been captured.
The 61-year Ba'ath regime in Syria, marked by massacres and wars, came to an end following the operations of the opposition. While the ousted leader Bashar al-Assad fled to Russia, those who could not escape are being captured one by one by armed opposition forces.
THE MONSTER WHO KILLED 41 INNOCENTS HAS ALSO BEEN CAPTURED
One of those who committed the bloodiest acts during the Ba'ath regime was Saleh al-Ras Abu Montajib, one of the commanders of the Syrian military intelligence service. In 2013, Montajib was captured by the opposition after throwing 41 unarmed civilians into pits and killing them.
TADAMON MASSACRE
Records revealing that at least 41 civilians were killed in the Tadamon neighborhood, south of the capital Damascus, in 2013 caused a great outcry. Montajib's team buried people alive in pits with concrete. Some civilians, who were said to have been forced to run with their hands and eyes bound, were mocked before being executed and burned in the pit where they were thrown.
