The Competition Authority has initiated an investigation into 19 private schools. In this context, exorbitant registration, meal, book, and clothing fees at the schools will be scrutinized.
The Competition Authority, affiliated with the Ministry of Trade, has launched an investigation into 19 private schools following allegations of high fees in the education sector. It has been reported that the decision was made after numerous complaints from parents.
EXCESSIVE PRICE INCREASE ALLEGATIONS ON THE TABLE
It was stated that the Authority is particularly scrutinizing the significant increases in registration fees. Additionally, it was noted that the prices of additional products and services such as meals, clothing, and books are also being examined.
MANDATORY SALES POINT ALLEGATION
It was announced that allegations regarding the requirement for certain products to be obtained only from sales points designated by the school are also within the scope of the evaluation. It was expressed that necessary steps would be taken based on the findings obtained after the Competition Authority's investigation process.
