The Dardanelles Strait has been closed to two-way transit ship traffic due to fog. The dense fog, which has intensified in the Dardanelles Strait, has caused disruptions in maritime transportation. Due to the reduced visibility, the strait was closed to two-way transit ship traffic around 05:50.
SHIPS HAVE STARTED TO WAIT IN ANCHORAGE AREAS
Officials from the Dardanelles Strait Vessel Traffic Services Directorate warned ship captains entering from the north and south via radio and announced that the strait traffic has been closed. Ships have started to wait in anchorage areas.
