The Dardanelles Strait was closed to two-way transit ship traffic in the morning due to heavy fog. Officials from the Vessel Traffic Services Directorate informed the captains via radio that the strait traffic had been halted.

The Dardanelles Strait has been closed to two-way transit ship traffic due to fog. The dense fog, which has intensified in the Dardanelles Strait, has caused disruptions in maritime transportation. Due to the reduced visibility, the strait was closed to two-way transit ship traffic around 05:50.

SHIPS HAVE STARTED TO WAIT IN ANCHORAGE AREAS

Officials from the Dardanelles Strait Vessel Traffic Services Directorate warned ship captains entering from the north and south via radio and announced that the strait traffic has been closed. Ships have started to wait in anchorage areas.
