The National Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Commission will convene on Thursday, December 4, at 2:00 PM under the chairmanship of the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Numan Kurtulmuş. The commission was supposed to meet on Tuesday following the meeting with the terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan in Imralı, but the meeting was postponed.
The date for the meeting of the National Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Commission established in the Parliament regarding the Terror-Free Turkey process has been announced.
NUMAN KURTULMUŞ WILL CHAIR
The commission will meet on Thursday, December 4. The meeting will be chaired by the Speaker of the Parliament, Numan Kurtulmuş.
FIRST MEETING AFTER THE IMRALI VISIT
This meeting will be the first to take place after the delegation established in the commission met with the leader of the terrorist organization, Abdullah Öcalan, in Imralı.
NEARLY 3-HOUR MEETING IN IMRALI
The delegation consisting of Hüseyin Yayman from the AK Party, Feti Yıldız from the Nationalist Movement Party, and Gülistan Koçyiğit from the DEM Party met with the terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan on the island of Imralı on Monday.
An announcement was made by the Presidency of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey regarding the meeting, stating that the meeting was positive for advancing the process. The integration of the YPG into the central government in Syria was the most important agenda item during the meeting. In this context, Öcalan was asked for his views on the YPG's implementation of the March 10 Agreement.
The statement included the following expressions: "In this regard, detailed statements were obtained concerning the questions asked about the implementation of the March 10 agreement in Syria, as well as the organization's announcements regarding its dissolution and disarmament following the Peace and Democratic Society Call made on February 27."
As a result of the meeting, positive outcomes were achieved in terms of social integration, strengthening brotherhood, and advancing the process from a regional perspective. The commission will continue its determined and resolute attitude towards achieving its goals in the upcoming process."
THE COMMISSION WILL MOVE TO THE REPORT STAGE
The results of the meeting will be discussed in the National Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Commission. The report will include recommendations for steps to be taken regarding legal regulations that can be made in the Parliament during the Terror-Free Turkey process.
