It has been announced that the attacker who shot and killed two National Guard soldiers in Washington is 29-year-old Rahmanullah Lakanwal, an Afghan national. Lakanwal, who fled the Taliban, entered the United States during the presidency of former President Joe Biden and it has been revealed that he served in the Afghan army alongside U.S. Special Forces for 10 years.
Two National Guards on duty near the White House in the U.S. were shot by an armed assailant yesterday at 2:15 PM local time.
2 NATIONAL GUARDS LOST THEIR LIVES
The two National Guards, who were severely injured and taken to the hospital, lost their lives despite all interventions, while U.S. President Donald Trump reacted strongly to the attack that shook the nation.

Describing the attack as a "disgusting assault" and a "hate-filled act," Trump stated that they consider the attack a "terrorist attack."
APPLICATIONS OF AFGHAN NATIONALS SUSPENDED
While Trump announced that the assailant was an Afghan national, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services suspended all immigration applications of Afghan nationals following the attack in which two National Guard personnel were killed near the White House.
IDENTITY OF THE ASSAILANT REVEALED
Meanwhile, the identity of the person who carried out the attack has also been revealed. The assailant who killed the two National Guards was identified as 29-year-old Rahmanullah Lakanwal, an Afghan national.
SERVED IN THE AFGHAN ARMY FOR 10 YEARS
It has emerged that Lakanwal, who entered the U.S. during the presidency of former U.S. President Joe Biden after fleeing the Taliban, served in the Afghan army alongside U.S. Special Forces for 10 years.
WAS TAKEN AWAY ON A STRETCHER
Agencies also shared footage of Lakanwal being taken away on a stretcher after being neutralized following the attack.
