The deadline for Vehicle Recognition System registrations has been set for April 30. As the date approaches, the Revenue Administration has issued a reminder message stating that vehicle owners need to install or have the specified equipment installed before this date.

According to a statement from the Revenue Administration, the "General Communiqué on the Implementation of the National Vehicle Identification System" published in the Official Gazette dated October 5, 2023, has determined the procedures and principles for the establishment of the National Vehicle Identification System (UTTS) to ensure equal competition in the fuel market and to effectively combat the informal economy.

Within the scope of UTTS, fuel stations are required to install a Gun Communication Module (TİM) and a Vehicle Identification Reader Device (TTO) on fuel pump nozzles. Additionally, vehicles acquired through leasing or included in the operation and used in the business, as well as vehicles that are not of this nature but use the Vehicle Identification System, must have a Vehicle Identification Unit (TTB) installed. Under the communiqué, taxpayers operating fuel stations were required to ensure that at least one pump unit had TTOs installed on the nozzle apparatus by January 31. For devices to be used in pump units supplying a type of fuel other than gasoline or diesel, there is a deadline until the end of the year (December 31).

CRITICAL FOR TTB BY JULY 1

As part of the regulation, vehicle owners were also required to have TTB installed on vehicles acquired through leasing or included in the operation and used in the business by January 31. For vehicles operating with multiple types of fuel or a type of fuel other than gasoline or diesel, the deadline for the tank related to the type of fuel other than gasoline or diesel will expire on December 31. For vehicles that are not covered by the relevant article and use the vehicle identification system, TTB must be installed starting from July 1.

FINAL DEADLINE FOR EQUIPMENT IS APRIL 30

It is crucial for taxpayers operating fuel stations and vehicle owners to have the specified equipment installed or assembled by April 30 at the latest, provided that they complete the necessary application and registration processes through the website regarding devices, communication modules, and other equipment. In fuel sales made under UTTS, information related to the vehicle's license plate will be automatically transmitted to the new generation pump payment recording device. The statement included the following remarks: To prevent potential loss of rights, it is of great importance for taxpayers operating fuel stations and vehicle owners who are required to have TTB installed under UTTS to act in accordance with the regulations and deadlines specified in the relevant sections of the general communiqué and to fulfill their obligations completely and on time.
