On March 4, March 9, and March 13, three ballistic missiles directed from Iran to Turkey caused an increase in tension between the two countries, while a striking statement came from Colonel Ibrahim Zulfikari, one of the commanders of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps. Zulfikari claimed that attacks against some "friendly countries," including Turkey, were carried out by the U.S. and Israel with the aim of disrupting relations between the two countries.
While the effects of the ongoing war between the US-Israel and Iran continue to impact the region, developments closely related to Turkey have also occurred. Sirens were heard at the Incirlik Air Base in Adana late Friday night, and the activity that took place in the early hours of the morning drew attention.
Around 03:30, following the siren sounds rising from the base, the Ministry of National Defense (MSB) made a statement regarding the issue. The statement reported that a ballistic missile sent from Iran to Turkey was destroyed in the air by NATO forces.
CONTACT ESTABLISHED BETWEEN THE TWO COUNTRIES
It was revealed that the missile threat directed towards Turkish airspace was not limited to this. Authorities stated that contact was established between Turkish officials and their Iranian counterparts due to three separate ballistic missiles directed towards Turkish airspace on March 4, March 9, and March 13.
STRIKING WORDS FROM THE IRANIAN COMMANDER
Following the developments, Colonel Ibrahim Zulfikari, spokesperson for the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Hatemul Enbiya Central Headquarters, made a striking statement. Zulfikari claimed that attacks on some neighboring countries such as Turkey, Kuwait, and Iraq were not carried out by Iran.
"THE US AND ISRAEL BEHIND THE ATTACKS"
The Iranian official alleged that the US and Israel were behind the aforementioned attacks. Zulfikari stated that the purpose of these attacks was to create tension and conflict between Iran and neighboring countries.
"THEY STOLE OUR WEAPONS AND USED THEM AGAINST NEIGHBORING COUNTRIES"
According to Fars News Agency, Zulfikari also claimed that the US developed a new system that mimics Iran's Shahed-136 drones. The Iranian official alleged that this system, called "Lucas UAV," was used in attacks on certain targets in the region.
In his statement, Zulfikari said, "The enemy (US-Israel) is carrying out attacks on unlawful targets in regional countries under the name 'Lucas UAV' by secretly mimicking Iran's Shahed-136 UAV with a cunning plan."
