The number of fatalities in the armed attack on an entertainment venue in the Izmit district of Kocaeli has risen to three. Talip Çakır, who was injured in the attack and taken to the hospital, could not be saved despite all interventions. It was learned that Çakır had retired from the police force a week ago. The other two victims of the attack were businessman and venue owner Volkan Berberoğlu and Cem Özer, a manager at an international fuel company.

RETIREMENT A WEEK AGO
It was reported that Talip Çakır had retired from the police force about a week ago, that the bullet hit his abdominal area, and that his internal organs were damaged. It was stated that Volkan Berberoğlu was a businessman and also the owner of the entertainment venue where the attack took place. It was understood that Cem Özer, a member of the Kocaelispor Congress, was also a manager at an international fuel company, and that he was nearby during the incident and went to the entertainment venue upon hearing gunshots.
TREATMENT OF 2 PEOPLE CONTINUES
On the other hand, the treatment of 2 people injured in the incident is ongoing at the hospital. Volkan Berberoğlu's funeral will be held after the afternoon prayer at the Karaburun Family Cemetery in Akçakoca district of Düzce, while Cem Özer's funeral will be buried after the funeral prayer at Akşemsettin Mosque in the Yahyakaptan neighborhood of Izmit, also following the afternoon prayer.
