An attack was carried out on the house of Nechirvan Barzani, the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq, in Duhok. It has been reported that Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has instructed the establishment of a joint security and technical team to investigate the incident.
On the 29th day of the war between the US-Israel and Iran, concerns are growing about the spread of attacks across the region. Most recently, the home of Nechirvan Barzani, the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), in Duhok was targeted by drones.
After the attack on Nechirvan Barzani's home, explosion sounds were heard in the area, and it was reported that the KRG went on alert.
A CALL FROM SUDANI TO BARZANI
A condemnation regarding the attack came from Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shiya al-Sudani. Sudani, who had a phone conversation with Nechirvan Barzani, instructed the establishment of a joint security and technical team to investigate the incident. The Iraqi Prime Minister stated, "The government is determined not to allow any illegal party, regional or international, to drag Iraq into regional conflicts."
IRAQ'S AIRSPACE CLOSED FOR 3 MORE DAYS
Meanwhile, due to the continuation of US-Israel attacks on Iran, Iraq, which had closed its airspace to flights, has extended this period for another 3 days. In a statement from the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority, it was noted that the decision would be valid until 12:00 PM on Tuesday, March 31.
Iraq had announced on February 28 that it condemned the US-Israel attacks on Iran and closed its airspace to flights for 24 hours. This period had been extended several times thereafter.
