The trial of the defendant, who killed his neighbor with whom he had a feud while he was praying in the mosque, continued in Kayseri. In his statement, the defendant said, "They call me a murderer. When my brother is released, they will see the real murderer," threatening his brother.
During the trial of Y.Ş., who killed his neighbor while praying in a mosque in Kayseri, the defendant gave harsh responses to those who called him a 'murderer' and made threats against his brother.
DEFENDANT WHO KILLED HIS NEIGHBOR IN THE MOSQUE IN FRONT OF THE JUDGE
On June 19, 2025, in the mosque on Kocaali Street in the Selçuklu neighborhood of Kayseri, Y.Ş. killed his neighbor Ş.T., with whom he allegedly had a feud, by cutting his throat while praying. Y.Ş. appeared once again before the judge at the Kayseri Courthouse 2nd Heavy Criminal Court. This time, Y.Ş. was present at the hearing instead of participating via the Audio and Visual Information System (SEGBİS) as he did in the first hearing.
"HE HAS ALSO ASSAULTED ME"
During the hearing, F.T., the wife of Ş.T.'s brother, was heard as a witness. F.T. claimed that her husband had cancer and died because of Ş.T., saying, "Y.Ş. is my neighbor. My brother-in-law never behaved properly. He would curse if a car stopped on the road. My brother-in-law Ş.T. did a lot to us. My husband got cancer. He has also assaulted me, and we had lawsuits between us."
"MY BROTHER WILL SEE THE MURDERER WHEN HE IS RELEASED"
In a previous hearing he attended via SEGBİS, the defendant Y.Ş. stated that he was the brother of Fatma T., who was the perpetrator of the incident where a newborn baby was thrown into a trash container on July 4, 2023, in Kayseri. He mentioned that after learning about this incident, he returned to their home, which had turned into a mourning house, as his sister had killed the child she gave birth to from an illicit relationship while her husband was abroad. The defendant claimed that after the incident became known, Ş.T. insulted them by calling them 'baby killers' and 'child killers' in every fight.
Recalling this incident once again and becoming angry, Y.Ş. said, "They call me a murderer. When my brother is released, they will see the murderer," using a threatening expression towards his brother. The court panel decided to continue Y.Ş.'s detention and postponed the hearing to a later date to address the deficiencies.
