WHO IS MAHMUT ÇORUMLU?



Mahmut Çorumlu was born in 1968 in the Emirdağ district of Afyonkarahisar. He graduated from the Police College in 1986 and from the Police Academy in 1990. He started his career as a Deputy Commissioner at the Ankara Police Department in 1990. He served successively in the Provincial Police Departments of Kars, Sinop, Sivas, and Kastamonu; in the Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Department; and as the President of the Police Inspection Board.



Between 2008-2010 and 2012-2013, he served in Ivory Coast as part of the UN (United Nations) peacekeeping force. In 2017, he completed his master's degree with a thesis on "The Relationships Between Intelligence and Counter-Intelligence Services." He served as the Chief of Police in Kırıkkale from October 2016 to September 2019. In September 2019, Mr. Mahmut Çorumlu was appointed to the Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Department and is proficient in French; he is married and has two children.



Mr. Çorumlu, the Head of the Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Department, has been appointed as the Deputy Chief of Police.
