A motorcyclist identified as A.C., fleeing from a police checkpoint in Bartın, struck Deputy Governor Muhittin Gürel, who was walking on the sidewalk. Gürel was treated at the hospital and discharged, and did not press charges. A.C. was issued an administrative fine totaling 288,965 TL for various traffic violations.
