According to India Today, the All India Jewelers and Gold Federation (AIJGF) has prohibited customers covering most of their faces, such as with a burqa, mask, or helmet, from entering jewelers in the state of Bihar.

The measure, reported to be implemented for security reasons against rising theft and robbery incidents, came into effect today across the state.
WARNING POSTERS HUNG AT STORES
In this context, warning posters stating that entry with a "burqa, mask, or helmet" is prohibited have been hung at the entrances of jewelry stores in Bihar.
Jewelry associations stated that the implementation applies to everyone, regardless of gender, will be reviewed periodically, but for now, it will be mandatory for customers to have their faces uncovered to enter jewelry stores across Bihar.
"THIS IS A SECURITY ISSUE"
Samastipur MP Shambhavi Chaudhary, in a statement regarding the posters, argued that this is not a religious or caste-based measure. Chaudhary stated, "This is a security issue. The ban is not limited to just burqas or hijabs; it includes helmets and any element that covers the face."
