The Syrian Ministry of Defense announced that the terrorist organization YPG/SDG was given a deadline to leave Aleppo between 03:00 and 09:00, and a ceasefire would be implemented during these hours.
THE DEADLINE GIVEN TO THE TERRORIST ORGANIZATION HAS EXPIRED
In a statement from the ministry, it was noted that the "armed groups" in the mentioned neighborhoods must leave the region by 09:00, and the time granted to the terrorist organization by the Syrian army has officially expired. It is expected that the Damascus government will resume operations following the ceasefire that has been ongoing since last night.
"THE SYRIAN ARMY WILL ENSURE SAFE PASSAGES"
The statement said, "Armed individuals will only be allowed to carry light personal weapons. Safe passages will be provided by the Syrian army, allowing them to exit to the northeastern regions of the country."
RETURN OF CIVILIANS WILL BE FACILITATED
The ministry's statement indicated that this step was taken to end the military situation in the neighborhoods, ensure the functioning of official institutions, and facilitate the return of civilians who left their homes. It was noted that the exit process of the terrorist organization YPG/SDG would be carried out in coordination with internal security units.
OPERATION AGAINST YPG/SDG IN ALEPPO
Since January 6, the terrorist organization YPG/SDG has carried out attacks on many points in Aleppo from the regions it occupies. The Damascus administration had requested YPG/SDG to comply with agreements and to end the attacks in Aleppo.
Following the continuation of YPG/SDG's attacks, the Syrian army began pinpoint operations against the positions of the terrorist organization in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh neighborhoods of Aleppo, which it occupies. While clashes continue in the region, the terrorist organization has carried out attacks on many civilian settlements in Aleppo.
Since January 6, 9 Syrians have lost their lives and 55 people, mostly civilians, have been injured in the attacks carried out by the terrorist organization. The Aleppo City Center Committee announced that the number of those evacuated to safe areas in Aleppo has reached 142,000. The Syrian army has largely taken control of the Ashrafiyeh neighborhood.
