This situation drew the reaction of Fenerbahçe Vice President Acun Ilıcalı. Ilıcalı stated, "I disapprove and condemn this. Our players would not do such a thing. This is not part of Turkish culture; it is an ugly thing."

Fenerbahçe Vice President Acun Ilıcalı targeted Galatasaray's Argentine star Mauro Icardi's social media posts in statements made to Beyaz TV. Ilıcalı stated, "I condemn and criticize Mauro Icardi's posts regarding our president and our head coach. I call on Galatasaray Club. A player should not engage with the president, nor should he make posts. We condemn this," he expressed.

Ilıcalı expressed that they expect a warning to Icardi from Galatasaray, saying, "Our players do not do this. This does not exist in Turkish culture; it is an ugly thing. We expected a warning from Galatasaray, but it did not come. We cannot even tell our own player 'Stop, don't do it,'" he said.
