Farah Pahlavi, the wife of the deposed Iranian Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, made statements regarding the developments in Iran. Emphasizing that the future of the country should be determined by the will of the Iranian people, not external powers, Pahlavi described the killing of Iran's religious leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as a "historical turning point," but stressed that this development alone would not mean the collapse of the current regime in Iran.

The exiled Iranian Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi's wife, Farah Pahlavi, stated in a statement regarding the developments in Iran that the country's future should be determined by the will of the Iranian people, not external powers.

As discussions about the future of the regime in Iran continue following the attacks by Israel and the U.S., Farah Pahlavi, one of the last representatives of the Pahlavi dynasty that was ousted from power during the Islamic Revolution in 1979, made striking evaluations.

The 87-year-old Pahlavi, speaking to AFP, described the killing of Iran's religious leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as a "historical turning point." However, Pahlavi emphasized that this development alone would not mean the collapse of the current regime in Iran.

Living in exile in Paris since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Farah Pahlavi stated that the political structure in Iran is not dependent on a single person, saying, "The death of one person, no matter how central a role they played in the architecture of power, does not automatically mean the end of a system."

"THE DETERMINING FACTOR WILL BE THE IRANIAN PEOPLE"

According to Pahlavi, the most important factor that will determine Iran's future will be how the Iranian people form a political unity among themselves.

Pahlavi expressed that it would be decisive for Iranians to unite around a peaceful and orderly transition process based on the rule of law, and she also called on the international community.

"THERE SHOULD BE NO GEOPOLITICAL CALCULATIONS"

Farah Pahlavi emphasized that Iran's future should not be shaped by the geopolitical calculations of external powers, stating that the international community must support the fundamental rights of the Iranian people.

Pahlavi said, "The international community should clearly support the Iranian people's right to choose their leaders, the right to speak freely, and the right to live with dignity."
