After the passing of master journalist Güneri Civaoğlu, the legacy he left behind has put the family at odds. It has emerged that Civaoğlu bequeathed all his assets to his wife, Canan Civaoğlu, which has led to a shocking objection from other heirs regarding his will.

The legacy of master journalist Güneri Civaoğlu, who passed away last year, has caused a crisis within the family. Following Civaoğlu's decision to leave all his assets to his wife Canan Civaoğlu, four heirs filed a lawsuit for the annulment of the will, claiming threats and pressure.

The case, heard at the Istanbul 13th Civil Court, brought to light two wills dated 1987 and 2019. In both documents, all assets were left to Canan Civaoğlu. However, the other four heirs claimed that Civaoğlu drafted the wills under the threat and pressure of his wife, Canan Civaoğlu.

"THEY HAVE BEEN LIVING SEPARATELY"

The heirs ignited the debate by stating in their petition, "Güneri and Canan Civaoğlu have been living separately for years; their marriage was merely an agreement on paper."

WHO ARE THE LEGAL HEIRS?

The legal heirs of Civaoğlu included his wife Canan Civaoğlu and the children of Mehmet Selim Molu, Hayri Molu, and Nadir Uluğbay: Ragıp Kemal Uluğbay and Güneri Kerim Uluğbay.
