The Israeli army attempted to deploy troops from the air in the Baalbek region of eastern Lebanon. The Lebanese army and Hezbollah resisted this attempt, leading to significant clashes in the area. It was reported that Israel's troop deployment operation ended in failure, and Israeli helicopters and military planes were noted to have withdrawn from the region.
According to the news from Lebanon's official news agency NNA, the Israeli army attempted an aerial landing near the high areas of the Eastern Mountain Range close to the Lebanon-Syria border, in the direction of the Nabi Sheet–Ham line.
MAJOR CONFLICT IN THE REGION
Conflicts occurred in the region to prevent the aforementioned attempt. Israeli fighter jets conducted intense flights in the region's skies and dropped thermal traps (heat balloons).
FOOTAGE IS POURING IN
Meanwhile, videos containing footage of the incident have started to be shared on social media, as well as by Lebanon's Al-Jadeed News television.
In a report by Lebanon's LBCI television, it was stated that while Israeli military aircraft were conducting intense flights, there was an attempt to land at the foothills of Nabi Sheet.
HEZBOLLAH RESISTED THE ATTEMPT
The report mentioned that in addition to the Lebanese army firing flares, Hezbollah elements and local tribes in the region also resisted the landing attempt.
THEY WERE FORCED TO WITHDRAW
Following the developments, the report stated that the landing operation ended in failure, and Israeli helicopters and military aircraft withdrew from the region.
Israeli media only relayed some information reflected by the Lebanese press regarding the issue. No official statement has yet been made by Lebanese or Israeli authorities on the matter.
