The arrested Şişli Mayor Resul Emrah Şahan made a post on his social media account regarding the appointment of a trustee. In the message addressed to the people of Şişli, it stated, "Thank you very much for standing by the change, service, and solidarity that we have created together for a year. As I have always said, Şişli is entrusted to you."

According to the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Şişli Mayor Resul Emrah Şahan was arrested as part of an investigation into 'terror' allegations against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.

A TRUSTEE HAS BEEN APPOINTED

Following Şahan's arrest, a trustee was appointed to Şişli Municipality. In a statement from the Ministry of Interior, it was noted that Şişli District Governor Cevdet Ertürkmen was assigned as the acting Mayor of Şişli in place of the suspended Şahan.
