RESTORATION WORKS AT DİVRİĞİ AIRPORT COMPLETED
The restoration works of Divriği Airport, which was initiated by Nuri Demirağ, one of the most important figures in Turkish aviation history, in 1936 and completed in 1941, earning the title of Turkey's first district airport, but remained idle due to lack of use, have been completed by a private company.
THE FIRST PLANE LANDED AFTER 84 YEARS
Divriği Airport, which was the first airport where the Nu. D.38 tail aircraft designed by Nuri Demirağ landed, has been reopened after restoration works. The airport, which will serve 60-seat tourist aircraft, witnessed its first landing after 84 years. The Diamond DA42 model training aircraft, which took off from Çorlu and landed smoothly on the runway, was welcomed with drums and zurna, along with flowers.
