The leader of the CHP, Özgür Özel, made his first statement regarding the indictment against Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, saying, "We will bring the ballot box as soon as possible. We will see who is stronger, the people or the power."
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel made his first statement regarding the indictment prepared against Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, saying, "An indictment is being written in 5 days. Does the great Chief Public Prosecutor's Office have no other work?"
The first reaction to the indictment prepared against İBB President Ekrem İmamoğlu, which seeks a prison sentence of up to 7 years and 4 months for 2 years and 8 months, came from CHP Chairman Özgür Özel.
FIRST REACTION FROM ÖZGÜR ÖZEL
Speaking in Adıyaman, Özel stated, "What a fear this is, my friend. An indictment is being written in 5 days. Does the great Chief Public Prosecutor's Office have no other work? If you are writing it, why haven't you written it for Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer for 100 days?"
HE RESPONDED TO CANDIDATE CRITICISMS LIKE THIS
Özel also responded to the candidate determination reactions coming from within the CHP, saying, "They say, 'Why are you in such a hurry for the candidate?' Because I have more urgency than Akın Gürlek. We will bring the ballot box as soon as possible. If Akın Gürlek is in a hurry, we are in a bigger hurry. We will see who is stronger. Come on then. There was no judge assigned to murder justice like you. Now you have turned into a prosecutor. You are still murdering justice. The man's arrival in Istanbul is an order. The man was sent saying, 'Akın, I need you.'
INDICTMENT PREPARED FOR İMAMOĞLU
An indictment was prepared against İBB President Ekrem İmamoğlu for "targeting individuals fighting against terrorism," "insult," and "threat" due to the statements he made regarding Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor Akın Gürlek and his family during a panel he attended, seeking a prison sentence of 2 years and 8 months to 7 years and 4 months. Additionally, the indictment requested that İmamoğlu be deprived of public office.
