The murder suspect of two brothers, aged 22 and 16, who were killed by having their throats slit in Sivas, was captured by the police in Ankara. It was determined that the suspect was the last person to meet with the father of the murdered children, Uğur Şimşek, who had been missing for 5 years, and that there was a debt-related issue between them.

THE SIBLINGS WERE KILLED BY HAVING THEIR THROATS SLIT

The incident occurred in an apartment on 44th Street in Kılavuz Neighborhood at midnight. The siblings, Umutcan (22) and national athlete Melisa Şimşek (16), were found by their mother at home, having been killed by having their throats slit. It was determined that Melisa Şimşek's hands were tied before her murder. Following the incident, police teams launched a large-scale operation to find the murderer or suspects.

MURDER SUSPECT CAPTURED IN ANKARA

As a result of the meticulous follow-up conducted by the Sivas Provincial Police Department, the murder suspect H.S. was captured in Ankara.

In a statement made by the Sivas Governorship regarding the matter, it was stated, "The perpetrator of the incident that occurred in our Kılavuz Neighborhood, where two siblings lost their lives due to a knife attack, has been apprehended. As a result of the meticulous and detailed work carried out by the Sivas Provincial Police Department's Public Order and Intelligence Branches, it has been determined that the incident was carried out by an individual named H.S., who subsequently went to Ankara. As a result of coordinated efforts with the Ankara Provincial Police Department, the murder suspect was captured and taken into custody on the same day. After the necessary procedures, the suspect will be referred to judicial authorities, and the motive for the murder is being investigated from multiple angles," it was stated.

IT WAS DETERMINED THAT HE WAS THE LAST PERSON TO MEET WITH THE CHILDREN'S FATHER, WHO HAS BEEN MISSING FOR 5 YEARS

It was determined that the suspect H.S. was the last person to meet with the children's father, Uğur Şimşek, who has been missing for 5 years, and that there was a debt-claim issue between them. It was revealed that after Uğur Şimşek went missing, his family mentioned H.S. in a television program they participated in, and H.S., who joined by phone, stated that he had given Uğur Şimşek 500,000 TL.
