The first statement following the suspension of DEM Party's Tunceli Mayor Cevdet Konak and CHP's Ovacık Mayor Mustafa Sarıgül due to "terrorist affiliations" came from the DEM Party. In the statement, it was expressed, "If you think you can intimidate our party, make the people abandon their political preferences, and impose acceptance on society, you are very mistaken." Furthermore, DEM Party Co-Chairs Tülay Hatimoğulları and Tuncer Bakırhan also announced that they would be going to Tunceli.

The Ministry of Interior announced that Tunceli Mayor Cevdet Konak and Ovacık Mayor Mustafa Sarıgül have been temporarily suspended from their duties. It was stated that Tunceli Governor Bülent Tekbıyıkoğlu was appointed as the acting mayor in place of Konak, and Ovacık District Governor Hüseyin Şamil Sözen was appointed as the acting mayor in place of Sarıgül.

The first statement following the trustee decisions came from the DEM Party. In a statement made on the party's central social media account, the following expressions were used:

"The government is gradually eliminating the will of the people. As a result of politically motivated trustee decisions made through the judiciary, today the municipalities of Dersim and Ovacık have also been seized. If you think that insisting on this trustee coup will intimidate our party, make the people abandon their political preferences, and force society to accept this coup, you are very mistaken. You are only certifying your coup mentality and aggravating your crimes. You will be defeated in the face of the people's will, just as you were yesterday, today, and in the future."
