Images have emerged showing a young doctor in İzmir being assaulted in the emergency room last year, during which her hair was pulled and torn out. The two female attackers were released at the first hearing.
On October 15th of last year, a horror occurred at Nevvar Salih İşgören State Hospital located in the Gaziemir district of İzmir. A dispute broke out between 26-year-old doctor İrem Sarıkaya, who was in her first assignment at the hospital's emergency department, and two patients, Sinem C. (23) and Yağmur A. (20). After the doctor made a 'white code' notification, the two individuals left the hospital.
THEY PULLED AND RIPPED THE DOCTOR'S HAIR
After a while, the two suspects returned to the hospital to obtain their test results, and another argument broke out between the parties. Doctor İrem Sarıkaya, whose hair was pulled and ripped out, was assaulted. Police teams who arrived at the hospital detained Sinem C. and Yağmur A. After their procedures at the police station, the suspects were referred to the courthouse, where Yağmur A. was arrested, and Sinem C. was released under judicial control.
RELEASE AT THE FIRST HEARING
The investigation initiated after the incident has been completed. A case was filed against Yağmur A. for "simple injury, insult, and threat against a female healthcare worker," and against Sinem C. for "public insult and threat against a healthcare worker." The trial of Yağmur A. and Sinem C. began at the İzmir 29th Criminal Court of First Instance. In the first hearing held last November, the defendants denied the charges against them. While Yağmur A. was released, the judicial control condition for Sinem C. was also lifted.
HORROR MOMENTS ON CAMERA
While the trial was ongoing, security camera footage of the moments when Doctor Sarıkaya was assaulted emerged. The footage shows the suspects waiting in front of the hospital's emergency door, Sarıkaya arriving after a while, an argument breaking out between the parties, and the hospital police and private security personnel intervening in the escalating fight, during which Yağmur A. pulled Sarıkaya's hair, causing her to fall to the ground. Additionally, it can be seen that Yağmur A. was removed from Doctor Sarıkaya by the intervention of healthcare workers and security personnel.
