The forest fire that started yesterday in the Dörtyol district of Hatay continues on its second day. Aerial intervention, which was paused in the evening hours, resumed with the dawn of the day. Throughout the night, 920 homes were evacuated in 9 highland areas, and 1,870 citizens were evacuated.

A forest fire broke out yesterday around 16:30 in the Kırmızıburun area of Çökek Plateau in the Dörtyol district of Hatay. With the effect of the wind during the night, the fire grew and spread close to residential areas in the Payas district. During the firefighting efforts that continued into the second day, 920 houses were evacuated in 9 plateaus overnight, and 1,870 citizens were evacuated.
INTERVENTION IN THE FLAMES CONTINUES
With 404 vehicles and 1,100 personnel, ground operations resumed with daylight, and aerial operations began again. While the teams continued their firefighting efforts in the region, it was reported that the spread of the fire slowed down as the wind's effect decreased.
MINISTER YUMAKLI: 7 FIRES UNDER CONTROL
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı shared details about the ongoing firefighting efforts on his social media account. He emphasized that 10 major forest fires have been fought so far today and that the heroes are fighting valiantly against the flames, stating, "Control has been established in the fires in İzmir Buca, Ödemiş, Bursa Yenişehir, Eskişehir Seyitgazi, Balıkesir Savaştepe, Kahramanmaraş Andırın, and Çanakkale Çan districts, and cooling efforts are ongoing."
Minister Yumaklı also shared information about the ongoing firefighting efforts, stating, "The fires in Muğla Milas and Manisa Saruhanlı have largely been brought under control. Efforts are ongoing to fully bring them under control."
