France, still reeling from the shock of the robbery at the Louvre Museum, has now been shaken by a theft at the Presidential Palace. It has been revealed that approximately 100 pieces of porcelain and tableware used for state events were stolen from the Élysée Palace, and three people have been detained in connection with the incident.

While the discussions about the Louvre heist have not yet faded from the agenda, France has once again been shaken by a theft incident at the official residence of the Presidency, the Elysee Palace. It has been determined that a significant number of porcelain and tableware items, used during state invitations and by many world leaders, have gone missing from the public inventory. Three people have been detained as part of the investigation.

MISSING TABLEWARE SETS REVEALED BY INTERNAL AUDIT

According to information obtained from judicial sources, noticeable deficiencies were observed over time in the tableware sets used during official dinners and receptions held at the Elysee Palace. After internal audits, the situation was reported to security units, and the case was turned into an investigation coordinated by the Paris Prosecutor's Office.

SEVRES PORCELAINS ON THE MISSING LIST

Among the missing items are Sevres porcelain plates, cups, and various tableware pieces, which are considered among France's most prestigious productions. It was emphasized that these products are registered items in the public inventory used in state protocol.

PALACE STAFF AMONG THE SUSPECTS

As part of the investigation, legal action has been initiated against a staff member working at the Elysee Palace and two other individuals. The suspects are believed to have played a role in the disappearance of the items.

Police teams conducted an operation at one of the suspects' homes. Approximately 100 pieces of porcelain and tableware were seized during the searches.

According to the prosecutor's statement, among the seized items were: Sevres porcelains, Baccarat brand glasses, and copper kitchenware.

THEY TRIED TO SELL ONLINE

One of the notable details in the case is the discovery that some products were listed for sale on online sales platforms. The prosecutor's office announced that these findings are being evaluated as part of the investigation.

DAMAGE BETWEEN 15,000 - 40,000 EUROS

Authorities reported that the damage caused by the incident is estimated to be between 15,000 and 40,000 euros. It was stated that the suspects have been released under judicial control, and the case will be brought to court in February 2026.

In the assessment made by the Presidency, it was expressed that inventory tracking and security procedures will be reviewed, and additional measures are on the agenda to prevent similar incidents.

WHILE THE LOUVRE HEIST HAS NOT BEEN FORGOTTEN

The porcelain theft at the Elysee Palace has also reminded people of the recent heist at the Louvre Museum. The theft of some exhibited works at the Louvre had sparked extensive discussions across France regarding the protection of cultural heritage and security measures.
