A snow avalanche disaster occurred in the Uttarakhand state of India. According to initial reports after the disaster, 41 people are trapped under the snow.

41 PEOPLE TRAPPED UNDER SNOW
In the avalanche that occurred near the Chamoli region of the state, which borders Tibet, 41 people were trapped under the snow.
SEARCH OPERATIONS CONTINUE
In a statement from the Indian army, it was said, "The avalanche hit the work site, and 8 containers and 1 hut, which contained 57 workers, were buried under the snow. The location of 5 of the containers has been identified. Search operations for the remaining 3 containers are ongoing."
16 WORKERS RESCUED
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated to reporters that at least 16 workers have been rescued so far. Chamoli District Administrator Sandeep Tiwari reported that rain and snowfall have limited mobility and the use of helicopter services.
