A group of people bidding farewell to soldiers with their cars in the Kağıthane Tunnel blocked the tunnel to traffic. While the group celebrated without paying attention to the traffic that formed in the tunnel, the teams considered the camera footage as a report. A total of 10 suspects were caught and fined 27,894 lira.
A group of people who were sending off soldiers with their cars on September 28 in the Kağıthane Tunnel in Istanbul blocked the tunnel, preventing other drivers from passing. Ignoring the traffic that formed in the tunnel, those in the convoy celebrated by throwing the person they were sending off into the air with confetti.
VIDEO FOOTAGE CONSIDERED A TIP
The police teams evaluated the footage recorded by the tunnel camera as a tip and identified the individuals who endangered traffic by blocking the road. As a result of the investigations, drivers named H.K. (34), U.K. (23), M.A. (29), O.Ö. (30), A.A. (22), F.Ç. (29) and F.D. (23), S.E. (21), E.Y. (20), M.B. (20) were caught.
27 THOUSAND LIRA FINE IMPOSED
Six of the suspects were released after their statements at the police station. Four suspects who were referred to the courthouse were released under judicial control by the court. Meanwhile, a total fine of 27,894 lira was imposed on 10 suspects in accordance with the relevant articles of the Highway Traffic Law.
