It was determined that some businesses operating in Antalya, Adana, Karaman, and Kayseri used offal such as head meat, tripe, and heart meat in products like kebabs, meatballs, sausages, and meat bread. In some cases, it was also found that chicken meat was mixed with beef mince.
ADULTERATION IN HONEY AND OLIVE OIL
The list also included frauds in honey, olive oil, and herbal products. It was announced that some companies mixed seed oil into their olive oils, and that imitation and adulteration occurred in products sold as filtered honey. The ministry warned consumers to be cautious, especially with products sold with labels such as "natural," "organic," and "genuine."
MESSAGE: "INSPECTIONS WILL CONTINUE"
The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry stated that legal action has been initiated against these companies that endanger consumer health. Officials made a statement saying, "Inspections will continue uninterrupted across the country so that our consumers can access reliable food."
