The medical team determined that Özge Bedir had lost her life. The 36-day-old baby, who was sleeping in bed, was taken into protection by the police. Based on the statements of Tülay Alan and Seray Öztürk, the murdered woman's husband Adnan Bedir was also detained. After their procedures at the police station, the three suspects were referred to the courthouse and arrested. Özge Bedir's funeral was buried. SECOND HEARING
The trial, in which Tülay Alan was charged with 'premeditated murder', 'violation of the inviolability of the dwelling', and 'carrying and using knives or other tools without permission', Seray Öztürk with 'participation in premeditated murder', and Adnan Bedir with 'aiding in premeditated murder', continued at the Burdur 2nd Heavy Penal Court.
During the hearing, Adnan Bedir stated, "I did not direct anyone. I did not say, 'Go to their house.' Why am I being accused? I could not attend my wife's funeral. I do not know where her grave is. I miss my children very much. I request my release to see my children."
Tülay Alan said, "I am very sad and regretful for everything that has happened. I am a university student. What has my life come to? How did I end up in this situation? I do not accept the indictment. I request my release."
Seray Öztürk also stated, "I am very sorry for what has happened. I did not want it to be this way. I do not accept the indictment. I request my release. I do not want to be punished for a crime I did not commit."
"THEY PREMEDITATEDLY KILLED MY DAUGHTER"
Özge Bedir's father, Mehmet Çetin, stated, "I want the defendants to be punished to the fullest extent. I had only one daughter. She graduated from two universities. I worked in public service for 32 years to educate my daughter. Adnan Bedir had these girls do this. They premeditatedly killed my daughter," he said. Mother Şefike Çetin also stated, "They took my life from me. I want them to be punished in the harshest way."
RELEASED WITH HOUSE ARREST DECISION
After listening to the witnesses, the court panel decided to continue the detention of Tülay Alan and Seray Öztürk, while Adnan Bedir was released under a travel ban and house arrest.
Speaking to reporters outside the courthouse, father Mehmet Çetin said, "My daughter is underground, in the cemetery. They are releasing these people. I do not understand this. They took my daughter from me, and the man who killed her is being released. We will follow up. Our daughter is gone, and they are releasing her."
The Çetin family's lawyer, Vesile Atay, stated, "This decision was a great disappointment for us. While it was established by the collected evidence that Adnan Bedir was also involved in the murder, his release under house arrest has caused disappointment. I believe this decision is unjust and has added pain to people's suffering. We will appeal the decision. We sincerely request that justice be served and that a decision to continue Adnan Bedir's detention be made as soon as possible."
