After Keçiören Mayor Mesut Özarslan's resignation from the CHP, the poster of Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş at the Keçiörengücü facilities was taken down and replaced with the club's flag. It was also noteworthy that Özarslan's poster remained in place.

While the resignation of Keçiören Mayor Mesut Özarslan from the Republican People's Party (CHP) continues to be discussed in political corridors, Özarslan's first move after his resignation has become the agenda.

REMOVED YAVAŞ POSTER

After Özarslan's resignation from the CHP, the poster of Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş, located at the Keçiörengücü facilities, was taken down and replaced with the club's flag. The fact that Özarslan's poster remained in place also drew attention.

HE HAD REACTED

After Mesut Özarslan claimed that CHP Chairman Özgür Özel had insulted him and resigned, Mansur Yavaş had reacted to Özarslan in a statement.

In his statement, Yavaş noted that the will of the people of Keçiören was being disregarded, emphasizing that the authority given at the ballot box could not be transferred through personal preferences. Yavaş included the following statements in his announcement: "This decision, which casts a shadow over the will of the people of Keçiören, is absolutely unacceptable. Our fellow citizens have made a clear, unequivocal, and indisputable choice at the ballot box; they entrusted the management of Keçiören to the Republican People's Party, and they did so with their free will. If the people of Keçiören wanted this district to be managed by the AK Party, they would have already expressed it clearly and without hesitation at the ballot box. The ballot box is the voice of the nation; there can be no justification or calculation above that voice."

WHAT HAD HAPPENED?

Keçiören Mayor Mesut Özarslan resigned from the Republican People's Party yesterday, making serious allegations against CHP Chairman Özgür Özel in his resignation statement.

While Özarslan claimed that Özgür Özel had insulted him, he noted: "These messages contain insults, threats, and slanders that are incompatible with political courtesy, party ethics, public responsibility, and humanity. I ask; does a party leader insult a mayor? Does a party leader target family values and insult? Does a party leader threaten with unmentionable words?

Especially in the face of messages that even involve my family values and my sacred being, my mother and my late father; with the respect and love I have for the voters of the Republican People's Party, it is out of the question for me to serve in the ranks of the Republican People's Party any longer," he had stated. Özarslan also mentioned that he would submit Özel's messages to the prosecutor's office.
