The unnamed mother stated in an interview with the Telediario news channel that she gave birth at her workplace while she was five months pregnant. She first felt a sharp pain in her abdomen and realized she was bleeding when she went to the bathroom.
The young mother said, "After the bleeding, the baby was born... At that moment, I panicked and didn't know what to do."
She recalled, "My ears were ringing and everything was blurry, I was running out of strength," adding, "I gave the baby to his father to see what we could do, and he said he would take him."
She initially thought her boyfriend would take the baby to the hospital, but later learned on social media that the baby had been thrown onto the street.
The woman stated that there is no criminal investigation against her, but she has not been informed about when she can regain custody of her son.
The investigation is being conducted by the Mexican State Attorney General's Office.
After social media users began sharing photos of her and her boyfriend, whom she has not seen or heard from since Tuesday, she expressed concern for her and her family's safety.
