A 33-year-old mother in Romania caused her 1-year-old child to scream by leaving him barefoot in the snow. The child, who was subjected to this situation by his mother to make him "Spartan," was captured in video footage that was shared online. The mother faced significant backlash from social media users and is now under police investigation for child abuse.
A cruel mother filmed herself forcing her 1-year-old screaming son to stand barefoot in the snow "to make him a Spartan."
The 33-year-old TikTok mom is facing a police investigation for child abuse after the horrifying video was shared online last week from Bucharest, Romania.
The video shows the mother putting her distressed son's feet into a tub filled with snow, then sitting him down and rubbing freezing snow all over his body.
As the child's screams rise, the mother can be heard laughing.
The woman shared the video on her TikTok page, and it quickly went viral online as social media users expressed their concerns.
Facebook user Miu Carmen said, "Heartless, stupid people. You are causing him the greatest harm. He is screaming at you to understand his pain, and you are laughing. May God help him. May God keep him away from you for the rest of his life. You are sick; you are not protecting your own child."
Another user, Ramona Ghenea, added: "Oh my God!!! You people have no conscience! I can't even watch!!"
The video quickly reached the General Directorate of Police in Bucharest (GDPB), and they are now investigating the mother for possible child abuse.
The police stated that the woman "allegedly endangered the psycho-physical development of her 1-year-old son."
The police assured that representatives from the Sector 3 social assistance and child protection center have been informed and went to the 13th Police Station to conduct the necessary checks.
In a statement from the GDPB, it was added that the investigation is being conducted by the 13th Police Station under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Sector 3 Court.
The incident occurred in a house in Bucharest, Romania.
The woman defended herself by saying she is a good mother and deleted the video from her social media page.
To protect the child's identity, The Sun newspaper decided not to publish the names or faces of the woman or the child.
