2,200 DEATHS IN 2 MONTHS

According to this, 550 deaths in May were linked to extreme heat. Temperatures in May reached a high of 35.1 degrees Celsius, a record level for the month.

It was estimated that 2,200 people died, especially due to the heatwave in the second half of June. During last month's heatwave, the Met Office issued a red alert at least three times in a row, warning against the health effects of the temperatures.
