Mahmut Delil Erik, who killed Ali Aydın, the former co-chair of the Human Rights Association (IHD) and a lawyer, by hitting him on the head with a stone in the Çiğli district of İzmir, has been arrested. It was reported that Erik, during his court appearance, shouted that he was not remorseful and said, "I am a chosen one, I will kill the infidels."
The decision has been made regarding Mahmut Delil Erik, who killed Ali Aydın (69), the Co-Chairman and Regional Representative of the former Human Rights Association (IHD), by hitting him on the head with a stone.
HE CRUSHED HIS HEAD WITH A STONE
The incident occurred yesterday morning in a mountainous area of the Evka-2 region. Ali Aydın, the former Co-Chairman of IHD Izmir, a retired teacher and lawyer, was attacked while taking a morning walk. Aydın, who was hit on the head with a stone, collapsed to the ground in a pool of blood. Health and police teams were dispatched to the area upon the notification of those nearby. The health team determined that Aydın had lost his life. After the investigations by the police and the prosecutor, Aydın's body was taken to the morgue of the Izmir Forensic Medicine Institution.
"I AM THE CHOSEN ONE"
The police teams that initiated an investigation into the incident identified the suspect as Mahmut Delil Erik and took him into custody. In his statement at the police station, Erik confessed to his crime and claimed that he committed the act under the influence of drugs. After the completion of the procedures at the police station, Erik was brought to court, where it was learned that he expressed no remorse and shouted, 'I am the chosen one, I will kill the infidels.' Erik was arrested and sent to prison.
