Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) has initiated the demolition process against illegal construction in the Bosphorus view area. In accordance with the decisions of the Istanbul 3rd Cultural Heritage Preservation Board of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the unlicensed additional sections built by businesses adjacent to the Bosphorus are being removed one by one.

The İBB Bosphorus Planning Directorate teams have initiated legal action by detecting illegal extensions that occupy public coastal areas and are constructed in violation of the Bosphorus Law. As a result of the work carried out, while the official main structure of the mentioned buildings remains untouched, only the illegally added sections have been included in the demolition scope.
THE FIRST DEMOLITION TOOK PLACE IN BEBEK
The first application of the demolition process was carried out at a facility in Bebek, located in the Beşiktaş district. The work, prepared within the framework of the schedule for the removal of similar illegal structures identified in different areas along the Bosphorus line, will continue until the beginning of September. It was stated that all operations of the teams would be carried out in accordance with the provisions of the legislation and accompanied by security measures.
İBB officials emphasized that the fight against extensions that disrupt the silhouette of the Bosphorus, seize public coastal areas, and are constructed without permits will continue resolutely. In the statement, it was said, "As part of our responsibility to protect Istanbul's natural and cultural heritage, we will continue to take all necessary legal steps against illegal construction along the Bosphorus."
