In the case where a 19-year-old brother and father are being tried for pouring boiling water on the 16-year-old sister and committing violence in the Yunusemre district of Manisa, a verdict has been reached. The court, which considers the kettle and hot water as weapons, sentenced the brother to a total of 1 year, 9 months, and 22 days in prison, while the father was acquitted.

The imam of Lalapaşa Mosque, located in the Yunusemre district of Manisa, reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center after noticing that the lock of the imam's room had been broken on September 29, 2025, around 3:30 PM. Police teams were dispatched to the address following the report.

According to the allegations, it was determined during the investigation that 2 males and 1 female had forced their way into the mosque and behaved inappropriately. Within the scope of the investigation, the teams from the Public Order Branch Directorate's Moral Bureau identified the suspects as T.G. (21), M.E.A. (18), and the girl S.A. (16). The suspects were caught and taken into custody. After their procedures at the police station, the suspects were referred to the courthouse, where S.A. was released under judicial control, while T.G. and M.E.A. were arrested.

HE POURED BOILING WATER ON HIS SISTER AND MADE HER KISS HIS FEET

After the incident, the brother M.A.İ.A. (19) physically assaulted his sister S.A., pouring boiling water on her and making her kiss his feet. M.A.İ.A recorded those moments with his mobile phone camera and shared them on social media. In the footage, it is seen that after telling S.A. "You will kneel at my feet, kneel and apologize," he poured the boiling water he was holding and physically assaulted his sister by grabbing her hair.

BROTHER AND FATHER TAKEN INTO CUSTODY

Following the spread of the footage on social media, the provincial police teams identified M.A.İ.A.'s address. It was reported that M.A.İ.A, who was caught at home during the raid, burned his t-shirt and then harmed himself with a knife before being taken into custody. M.A.İ.A, who was injured on his arm, was taken to Manisa City Hospital. After his treatment, he was taken to the police station for his statement and was referred to the courthouse. M.A.İ.A's father G.A. was also taken into custody by the police.

Father and son were arrested by the court they were brought before. S.A. was placed under protection by the Family and Social Services Provincial Directorate's First Acceptance Unit upon the instruction of the Manisa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. After the completion of the investigation, an indictment was prepared against G.A. for 'aiding in simple injury with a weapon against a woman and sister,' and against M.A.İ.A. for 'ill-treatment,' 'threat with a weapon,' and 'simple injury with a weapon against a woman and sister.' The indictment was accepted by the Manisa 6th Criminal Court of First Instance.

The footage had caused an uproar! Here is the punishment given to the torturer brother

"I WAS RECEIVING TREATMENT AT THE HOSPITAL ON THE DATE OF THE INCIDENT"

The defendants appeared before the judge. The hearing was attended by the detained defendants and the lawyers of the parties. During the hearing, the father G.A., who was given the floor, denied the accusations against him, stating, "I was receiving treatment at the hospital on the date of the incident. When M.A.İ.A. sent me the video of S.A. being poured hot water, I left the hospital and went home. There were police and an ambulance at the door. My son was in the police vehicle. I started drinking alcohol at home out of sadness over the incident. M.A.İ.A. recorded a video, but I don't remember. I didn't even realize he was recording."

G.A.'s lawyer Efe Alper stated, "It is evident from the file that my client has not committed the act from the very beginning. My client has also made suggestions and preventive messages to the other defendant to prevent the act. The fact that my client is not a good father does not mean that the victim is not a good child or that he would commit this crime."

"WHEN I HIT THE TEAPOT, THE WATER SPLASHED ON HER FACE, THE WATER WAS WARM"

During the hearing, the defendant M.A.İ.A. defended himself by claiming that the water was warm, saying, "I saw news of the incident on a few local sites and started drinking alcohol. When I asked him about the news, he said, 'You have never acted like a brother to me, you cannot question me.' I got angry. To calm down and get out of the effect of alcohol, I decided to make coffee. I had the teapot in my hand, but the water inside was warm. Suddenly, S.A. hit the teapot, causing the water inside to splash on her face. If the water had been boiling, her face would have been completely burned. I started recording a video so that he wouldn't slander me and so that the incident would be understood correctly. On the date of the incident, I only slapped her; I did not hit her with the teapot. I would give my life for that."

HE DID NOT FILE A COMPLAINT AGAINST HIS BROTHER AND FATHER

During the hearing, the victim S.A. and her mother stated that they did not file a complaint against the defendants.

THE DECISION WAS ANNOUNCED

After the defenses, the prosecution presented its opinion on the merits. The public prosecutor requested the release of G.A. and a sentence for M.A.İ.A. for 'intentional injury against his sister.' The defendants, who made a defense regarding the opinion, requested acquittal.

After the defenses, the decision was announced. M.A.İ.A. was sentenced to 1 year and 2 months in prison for 'intentional injury,' while his sentence was increased to 1 year and 9 months on the grounds that he committed the crime against his sister with hot water and a teapot, which is considered a weapon. Since it could not be determined who made the first unjust act in the incident, the sentence was reduced to 1 year and 3 months in prison. M.A.İ.A. was also sentenced to 6 months and 22 days in prison for 'threat against a woman' and was acquitted of the charge of 'ill-treatment.' G.A. was also acquitted.
