The statement emphasized that conditions must be created for the existing problems between the U.S. and Venezuela to be resolved through dialogue, stating, "We call on the American administration to reconsider its current stance and to release the legitimately elected president of a sovereign country and his wife."
In a second statement from the ministry, it was said, "We demand the immediate clarification of the situation regarding Maduro and his wife. Such actions, if they indeed occurred, constitute an unacceptable violation of the sovereignty of an independent state, and respect for this sovereignty is a fundamental principle of international law."
LAVROV: WE WILL CONTINUE TO SUPPORT
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez. In a statement from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was noted that during the phone conversation, Lavrov expressed Moscow's strong solidarity with the Venezuelan people in the face of the U.S. armed attack on Venezuela.
The statement recorded that Russia will continue to support the Bolivarian government's policy aimed at protecting Venezuela's national interests and sovereignty, stating, "The parties expressed their support for efforts to prevent further escalation of the situation and to find a way out through dialogue."
The statement indicated that both sides shared a mutual approach to further strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership between Russia and Venezuela during the meeting.
CONDemnation FROM CHINA
In a statement from the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was stated that the actions described as "hegemonic" by the U.S. violate international law and Venezuela's sovereignty, threatening peace and security in the Latin America and Caribbean region.
The statement used the expression, "China is deeply shocked by the U.S. use of force against a sovereign country and its president, and strongly condemns it." The statement emphasized China's opposition to U.S. actions and called on the Washington administration to adhere to international law and the purposes and principles of the United Nations (UN) Charter, and to cease violations of the sovereignty and security of other countries.
BEIJING'S 'TRAVEL' WARNING TO ITS CITIZENS
Meanwhile, China warned its citizens to avoid traveling to Venezuela in the near future following the U.S. military intervention in the country.
In a statement published on the WeChat account of the Consular Affairs Department of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was noted that the U.S. attacks have increased security risks in the country.
The statement warned citizens to avoid traveling to Venezuela and advised Chinese citizens and organizations currently in the country to carefully monitor the local security situation, strengthen security measures, and emergency response actions.

WHAT HAPPENED?
Today, around 02:00 local time in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, explosions and sounds of aircraft were heard. The Venezuelan government accused the U.S. of carrying out attacks on civilian and military facilities in various regions of the country following the explosions. U.S. President Donald Trump announced that a large-scale attack had been carried out against Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and that Maduro and his wife had been taken out of the country.
U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi also announced that a criminal complaint had been filed against Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores in the U.S., with charges against Maduro including "drug terrorism, cocaine trafficking, possession of machine guns and destructive devices against the U.S."
