It was claimed that Fenerbahçe's Sporting Director Mario Branco forgot about the loan player quota, and as a result, Cenk Tosun's transfer to Japan did not take place.
Cenk Tosun, who transferred from Beşiktaş to Fenerbahçe, did not find the desired opportunity at the yellow-navy club and was practically trapped on the bench.
Unable to find playing time, Tosun wanted to leave the club and had reached an agreement with the Japanese team Urawa Red Diamonds. However, the transfer never materialized.
BOMB CLAIM: THE QUOTA WAS FULL
After the transfer did not happen, claims emerged that Mourinho did not want to send Cenk away. Despite reaching an agreement with Urawa Reds during the winter transfer window, the reason Cenk Tosun did not go to Japan has come to light.
It was stated that Cenk Tosun's transfer did not happen because Fenerbahçe's Sporting Director Mario Branco forgot the number of players sent on loan from the team.
"BRANCO HAS NO IDEA"
Speaking on the subject in 343 Digital, İbrahim Seten said, "The Fenerbahçe management is so unaware of the events regarding Cenk Tosun's departure... For example, we keep praising Branco, but he has no idea that he has filled Fenerbahçe's quota of 6 loaned players. He is so unaware that when the transfer papers are sent, just before the transfer is about to be completed, the Japanese say, 'Friends, we cannot enter this transfer into the system, your documents are not matching,' and then it becomes clear that 'oh, our quota is full.' To cover this up, they said Dzeko came back injured from the national team, and that’s why Mourinho did not let Cenk Tosun go," he said.
