In the Yaprakli Plateau in the Yukari Yuvali village of Gumushane, damage has emerged in an area containing approximately 30 historical martyr graves believed to date from the Ottoman-Russian War period between 1915 and 1918. It was observed that some graves had been dug up by unidentified person or persons, and the headstones had been damaged. While it is claimed that the digging was carried out to search for treasure, citizens have demanded measures be taken to protect the historical site.
Citizens going to the Yapraklı Plateau in the Yukarı Yuvalı village of Gümüşhane were deeply saddened by the scene they encountered in the region. Citizens who reacted to the destruction in the cemetery demanded that the necessary measures be taken to prevent further damage to the graves, which are considered to be from the Russian War, and their surroundings.
