Three social media influencers, who are alleged to have engaged in illegal betting advertising and promotion in Istanbul, are facing prison sentences ranging from 1 to 3 years. The trial is expected to begin in the coming days.



Investigations into 3 social media influencers accused of promoting illegal betting advertisements and encouraging people have been completed. In the prepared indictments, it was requested that the 3 influencers be sentenced to up to 3 years in prison.

Investigations into social media influencers Aleyna Göreci, Aleksandr Menshıkov, and Muhammed Sümertaş, who are alleged to have promoted illegal betting advertisements and encouraged people in Istanbul, have been completed. In the separate indictments prepared, it was requested that the 3 suspects be sentenced to 1 to 3 years in prison for the crime of 'encouraging individuals to place advertisements and otherwise engage in fixed-odds or joint betting or gambling based on sports competitions.' The trials of the suspects will begin in the coming days at the Istanbul Criminal Courts of First Instance.
